Meetings

There are more than 60 Alcoholics Anonymous® meetings in Nanaimo every week. You can attend at least one AA meeting daily either first thing in the morning, at lunch and late afternoon, with several choices for evening AA meetings.

There are several different types of AA meetings available:

  • OPEN - Open meetings are for anyone interested in the AA program of recovery from alcoholism. Nonalcoholics may attend open meetings as observers.
  • CLOSED - Closed meetings are for AA members only, or for those who have a drinking problem or "have a desire to stop drinking."
  • W/A - Wheelchair accessible meetings.
